Available year-round\, upon request \nColombia\, \nIf you feel curious to explore ancestral wisdom\, nature\, and a different way of being—and are ready to slow down and reconnect with nature and with yourself —join us for a one-day immersion in the Andes\, where you’ll be guided through a grounded and intentional experience and leave with a deeper sense of clarity\, presence\, and connection. \nGuided by Diego\, this one-day immersion invites you into a different rhythm of life. \nYou’ll move through the day slowly\, intentionally\, in connection with the land\, the body\, and ancestral traditions. \n\nVisiting an indigenous village and learning from their way of living\nSitting in ceremony with gentle (non-psychoactive) ancestral plant medicines\nWalking through the mountains toward the river\nSharing moments of silence\, reflection\, and presence\nGathering around the fire with songs and stories\n\nThis is not about learning more. You’ll get a firsthand glimpse into a way of life that remains in harmony with the Earth\, learning about their traditions\, beliefs\, and the deep connection they hold with nature. \nThis experience invites a different way of relating—where nature is not separate\, but part of us\, and where connection is practiced through presence\, ritual\, and shared space. \nDiscover Sacred Plant Medicines \nOne of the most powerful aspects of this day is the opportunity to experience sacred indigenous plant medicines\, used for centuries to bring clarity\, healing\, and spiritual alignment. These are not psychedelic substances but natural tools to help cleanse\, focus\, and reconnect with the present moment. \nYou will be guided through four of the most important plant medicines used in indigenous healing: \n🌿 Mambe – The Medicine of Clarity & Conscious Speech \nMambe is a sacred preparation made from toasted coca leaves and ashes\, traditionally used by indigenous people to enhance focus\, clear the mind\, and deepen conversations. It is not a stimulant in the way coffee is; instead\, it provides a gentle\, sustained clarity that supports presence and mindfulness. Mambe is a communal medicine\, shared in circles where wisdom is exchanged. \nIt helps to: \n\n✔️ Sharpen mental clarity and enhance deep focus\n✔️ Balance emotions and bring a sense of inner calm\n✔️ Strengthen the power of words and intentional speech\n\nBy consuming mambe in a ceremonial setting\, you’ll experience a state of relaxed awareness—perfect for deep contemplation and connection with others. \n🖤 Ambil – The Medicine of Grounding & Intention \nAmbil is a thick\, black paste made from mapacho tobacco and natural salt\, used by indigenous elders as a medicine for grounding and conscious communication. It is often paired with mambe\, creating a balance between masculine and feminine energies. Ambil is considered a powerful teacher\, showing us how to align our words with truth and intention. \nIt helps with: \n\n✔️ Emotional grounding and inner stillness\n✔️ Harmonizing thoughts and reducing anxiety\n✔️ Strengthening the connection between heart and mind\n\nWhen taken in a ceremonial space\, ambil reminds us that our words carry energy\, and every thought we express shapes our reality. \n🌬️ Rapé – The Medicine of Presence & Purification \nRapé (pronounced ha-pe) is a finely ground blend of tobacco and sacred medicinal plants\, blown into the nostrils using a ceremonial pipe (kuripe). It is used to clear mental fog\, ground the body\, and enhance spiritual connection. \nThe effects of rapé are immediate and profound: \n\n✔️ Deep mental clarity and a meditative state\n✔️ Physical and energetic cleansing\n✔️ A heightened sense of awareness and presence Rapé is a powerful ally for stilling the mind\, releasing negative energy\, and enhancing focus.\n\nMany indigenous tribes use it before meditation or prayer to deepen their practice. \n👁️ Sananga – The Medicine of Vision \nSananga is a powerful eye drop medicine made from the roots of the Tabernaemontana shrub. It is known for its intense\, cleansing effect—not only on physical vision but also on spiritual perception and inner awareness. When applied\, sananga creates a strong burning sensation in the eyes\, but this temporary discomfort is followed by profound clarity. \nIt is believed to: \n\n✔️ Improve eyesight and sharpen night vision\n✔️ Open the third eye and enhance spiritual perception\n✔️ Help release suppressed emotions and stagnant energy\n\nSananga is often used by indigenous warriors before hunting\, as it sharpens their focus and intuition. In a ceremonial setting\, it helps to “see beyond the physical”—both inwardly and outwardly. \nWalk to the Sacred Rivers Through An Ancestral Path\nWe’ll take a guided nature walk through the mountains\, following ancient trails that lead to the sacred rivers of the region. As we walk\, we’ll engage in moments of silence\, mindfulness\, and reflection\, allowing the sounds of nature to ground us into the present moment. Along the way\, you’ll learn about the spiritual significance of the rivers and their role in indigenous healing ceremonies. Take a moment to place your hands in the cool\, flowing water—this is a space of renewal\, cleansing\, and deep connection. \nSit And Sing Around the Fire\nAs the sun begins to set\, we gather around a sacred fire for an evening of traditional songs\, chanting\, and storytelling. The fire represents transformation\, a space where we can release\, reflect\, and set new intentions. You’ll be invited to join in medicine songs and ancestral chants\, feeling the power of music as a tool for healing and unity. This is a moment of community\, connection\, and shared experience—a rare opportunity to simply be present\, surrounded by the warmth of the flames and the wisdom of those who came before us. \nBy the end of the retreat\, you’ll leave with more than just memories—you’ll take with you a feeling of connection\, renewal\, and insight. This isn’t just a getaway; it’s a journey back to what truly matters. \nI`ll meet you there!Your sanctuary for this retreat \nWelcome to Fuente Alegre (meaning “The Source of Joy”)\, a sanctuary where nature holds you\, and simplicity becomes a path to depth. \nNestled in the emerald mountains of Cocorná\, a region known for its waterfalls\, rivers\, and unspoiled beauty\, it is just two hours from Medellín \nColombia is a land where the soul remembers. \nFuente Alegre is a family-led project\, lovingly created and hand-built with natural materials by your guides\, Lara and Diego. What began as a personal dream grew into a larger vision: to live in harmony with nature\, raise their children in connection to the Earth\, and offer a space for others to remember what truly matters. \nWhat Others Say \n\nI almost didn’t come to the retreat — until the very last day before coming\, I wasn’t sure I could do it alone. But the moment I arrived\, I felt like family. Lara and Diego took me by the hand and opened a world of experiences I never imagined I’d love or even try. It was a beautiful chance to challenge myself and see what truly matters. I fell in love with the sound of the river\, the vibrant colors of the food\, and the warmth of this place surrounded by water. I’ll be back. \nCaroline B.\, US\nFrom the moment I arrived at Fuente Alegre\, I felt the peace and special energy of the place wrap around me. Diego and Lara welcomed me like family\, and Lara’s dance therapy session was truly life-changing — deeply attuned to my process and needs. This is a place of transformation\, medicine\, and truth. \nSacha\, NL\nThis retreat has been profoundly healing for me. They’ve helped me find inner peace\, release tension\, and reconnect with my emotions. The combination of a family atmosphere and pure nature creates the perfect space for harmony and well-being. \nFelipe G.\, CO\nFuente Alegre is a sanctuary where nature itself heals you. Immersing in the rivers and waterfalls\, with guidance and support\, brought me renewal and peace like never before — and this was my first retreat ever. Diego’s calm presence and deep connection to the land made the experience deeply grounding and unforgettable. And Lara’s sweetness\, attentive listening\, and gentle guidance brought resilience into me and a newfound clarity I will carry forward. \nJess\, USWhat’s Included \n\n\nAll activities \n\nA nourishing lunch prepared with care\nWater\, herbal teas\, and refreshments throughout the day\nLight snacks throughout the experience\n\nWhat’s not Included \n\nAccommodation (available for additional cost)\nPersonal\, medical or trip cancellation insurance\nTransport to and from the center\nTips and gratuities.\nSouvenirs\, phone calls\, taxis\, laundry\, snacks etc.\nToiletries and personal care items (please bring eco-friendly products – we are in an eco-friendly environment)\n\nTrip Leaders \n Lara Grofils Lara —somatic movement guide and dance therapist. \nHi\, I’m Lara. I grew up in the quiet countryside of Belgium and later chased city pace and big degrees (Business Engineering). On paper\, I was “doing well.” Inside\, I was lost. After a traumatic assault when I was young—and later postpartum depression after a difficult childbirth—my body felt like a stranger to me. \nWhat brought me back was movement\, not performance\, but medicine. Through somatic practices\, breath\, and simple\, honest motion\, I learned to listen again. I came to understand that my body isn’t separate from nature; my body is nature. When I finally honored that truth\, the edges softened and clarity returned. Dance\, my first language since I was three\, became my medicine\, alongside meditation and yoga\, and journaling became my mirror. Little by little\, I’m learning to listen more deeply: Who am I beneath what happened to me? Where do I come from\, and where do I choose to go? \nWith my partner\, Diego\, I moved to Colombia to live closer to the land. We built our home—and then our retreat center—by hand\, with earth and bamboo\, and we’re raising our children in a way that matches our values: simple\, present\, nature-rooted. We also learn regularly with indigenous elders here in Colombia\, whose guidance helps us bridge ancestral wisdom with everyday life\, especially when things feel hard. \nMy work is gentle and deep. I use somatic and expressive movement\, breath\, touchpoints of nervous system regulation\, and guided journaling to help you feel again\, safely. Most of what I share happens in relationship with nature: we attune senses\, let the body remember it is nature\, and move in ways that allow truth to surface without forcing it. I hold a clear\, trauma-aware space where you don’t have to perform or push. Just meet yourself\, honestly. \nIf you’re longing to feel at home in your body\, to hear your intuition without the noise\, and to walk forward with more softness and strength\, come. Let the land steady you. Let your body speak. And let your own words—on the page\, in movement\, in breath—show you the way back. \nThis work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about remembering you\, through your body\, with nature as a mirror.. \n Diego Colot Duque Half Colombian\, half Belgian\, I grew up in the quiet fields of Belgium\, where my first teachers were wind\, wood\, and water. At ten\, my family moved to Spain and cracked my world open to different ways of living. Years later\, on a backpacking trip in Australia\, I met a spiritual guide who introduced me to meditation and ancestral medicines. That encounter changed my compass. It pointed me toward a life rooted in nature\, simplicity\, and spirit—and eventually toward Colombia. \nIn Colombia I apprenticed myself to the land and to elders who carry living traditions. Their teachings were not concepts but practices—how to listen\, how to sit with the fire\, how to enter the river with respect. About a decade ago\, when I felt most disconnected from myself and the speed of society\, these practices—along with clean food\, silence\, and prayer—brought me back. Becoming a father deepened the lesson: to be steady inside\, so the people you love can rest against you. \nBy trade I’m a woodworker. With my hands I shape spaces meant for slowness and truth. Together with Lara\, I built our retreat center with bamboo\, earth\, and intention. It’s a place where you can hear your own life again. \nWhat I offer on retreat is simple and elemental: \n\nNature as medicine. River immersions\, cold-water practice\, and time with the forest to settle your nervous system and clear the noise.\nRitual with respect. Teachings I’ve received from Colombian elders shared with humility—never as spectacle\, always as bridge.\nPresence. A calm\, grounded container so you can soften\, feel\, and choose what’s real for you.\nCrafted space. DESCRIPTION:Ayahuasca & Somatic JourneyFrom insight to embodied transformationJuly 8 – 18\, 2026* \nColombia \n*This retreat can also open on demand once a minimum of 3 participants is confirmed \nToggle NavigationHomeVenueBenefitsTestimonialsInclusionsLeadersRegisterContactIf you’re ready to explore what’s beneath the surface\, in a safe\, trauma-informed\, and supportive space\, guided by a trusted community and practices that reconnect you to your body\, this retreat is for YOU. \nBy the end of this retreat\, you’ll feel more grounded in your body\, clearer in your heart\, and connected to something greater than yourself\, through the combined power of sacred yagé (ayahuasca) ceremony\, somatic practices\, and a family-like community that holds you. \nYou’ll leave with deeper trust in your inner process\, tools for emotional regulation\, and a renewed sense of direction\, so you can return to your life feeling more whole\, more awake\, and more aligned with what truly matters. \nReserve Your Spot NowThis retreat is intentionally limited to a small group of 6 participants\, allowing deep presence\, individual support and carefully held container.\nDrop into the experience \nImagine stepping into a way of living that’s deeply connected to nature and community. You will hike into the lush Colombian mountains\, leaving the noise of the world behind. With every step\, your senses will soften; birdsong\, rivers\, and sacred silence will greet you. After a gentle walk through nature\, you’ll arrive at a hand-built retreat center\, crafted with natural materials and the wisdom of the land. Here\, nature conexion isn’t a concept\, it’s our way of life. \nYou’ll settle into a space that invites listening; to tradition\, to Spirit\, and most of all\, to yourself. \nYou will be welcomed by a caring team\, including our respected Indigenous Taita\, a shaman from a lineage of wisdom passed down through generations\, who will not only guide the ceremonial space but will be present for you the whole journey. \nFrom the moment you arrive\, the journey begins. Through somatic (body-based and movement) practices\, you will gently ground into the territory\, reconnect with your body\, and begin weaving bonds with the group that will walk this path beside you. You will also receive somatic tools to support you during the ceremonies. Furthermore\, you will have private time with the facilitators\, where you will be deeply listened to. \nStep by step\, a foundation of safety and trust is created. Only then\, when the body begins to recognize safety\, will you enter the sacred ceremonies of ayahuasca. \nHeld by ancestral traditions and sacred medicine music\, you will be supported through every stage of the experience. The music becomes a guide\, moving through every layer of your being\, while the small\, family-like circle around you offers a space where you can be seen and welcomed exactly as you are. \nThroughout the journey\, you will learn how to meet the intensity of the medicine with presence\, how to listen to the wisdom of your body with compassion\, and how to move through what arises\, not with fear\, but with trust. \nWhy this retreat \nThe Ayahuasca & Somatic Journey Retreat is not just another ayahuasca retreat. It’s a holistic\, transformational experience created for those who are no longer seeking a quick fix\, a peak experience\, or a spiritual high. This retreat is for those who are ready to meet themselves fully\, honestly\, and gently. \nHere\, healing doesn’t come from intensity alone\, but from integration. From sacred ceremony and deep listening. From reconnecting to your body\, your truth\, and a kind of support that feels real\, not performative. \nYou’ll be held in a space that honors both the medicine and the nervous system. Because we believe true transformation happens when spirit meets the body… and when both are welcomed with softness and care. \nWhat the retreat offers you \nThe medicines may open the door to spiritual insight\, emotional release\, or a felt connection with something greater than yourself. But this retreat is much more than that; it’s a carefully held space designed to support your process before\, during\, and after the ceremonies. \nYou’ll learn to reconnect with your emotions through the body in a way that feels safe\, manageable\, and real. With gentle somatic practices and a trauma-informed approach\, you’ll build the capacity to feel more (including during ceremonies)\, without being overwhelmed. \nYou’ll be given space and structure to slow down and listen. Through somatic preparation and integration\, group processes\, journaling and immersion in nature\, you’ll begin to release what’s been held in your body and return home with more clarity\, more calm\, and more connection. \nIf this resonates with your heart and spirit\, it’s time to say YES and join us for a transformational journey! \nI say YEs!Your sanctuary for this retreat \nWelcome to Fuente Alegre\, a sanctuary where nature holds you\, and simplicity becomes a path to depth. \nNestled in the emerald mountains of Cocorná\, a region known for its waterfalls\, rivers\, and unspoiled beauty just two hours from Medellín\, Fuente Alegre (meaning “The Source of Joy” in Spanish) is where our journey unfolds. To reach it\, you’ll walk 7–10 minutes along a scenic trail\, a gentle and symbolic transition from the outside world into a sacred space. \nFuente Alegre is a family-led project\, lovingly created and hand-built with natural materials by your retreat facilitators\, Lara and Diego. What began as a personal dream grew into a larger vision: to live in harmony with nature\, raise their children in connection to the Earth\, and offer a space for others to remember what truly matters. \nThe heart of the retreat is our open-air ceremonial and movement platform\, an 80m² space with panoramic views of the mountains where you’ll sit around the fire\, breathe in movement\, and connect with presence. Just a few steps away\, the river calls. You may find yourself resting on its sun-warmed stones\, feet in the water\, listening to the sound of life flowing\, a gentle reminder that you too can soften\, surrender\, and return to your natural rhythm. \nBegin the day with a coffee or a garden infusion on your terrace. Curl into a hammock in the social nook with fellow travelers\, or if you like the sound of water\, slip away to journal on a shaded bench beside the river or cool off in our stone-lined plunge pool. \nYour room or cabin is simple\, elegant\, and cozy\, built from the land itself in earth and bamboo. Woven textures\, soft lighting\, and the scent of fresh flowers invite you to inhale… and exhale. From your bed\, you might spot tiny monkeys slipping through the trees. Comfortable mattresses\, soft linens\, and fresh\, intentional touches make the space feel warm and human. \nStart your day with an invigorating cold rinse or end it with a warm flow\, choosing what your body most craves. Plant-based soaps add a gentle\, earthy scent\, keeping you close to nature. \nYour marvelous meals \nAt Fuente Alegre\, food isn’t just nourishment\, it’s part of the whole journey. Our cuisine is fresh\, plant-based\, and mostly vegetarian\, designed to support your retreat experience with vitality and balance. We prioritize light\, wholesome meals that leave you energized rather than heavy\, while remaining flexible to your needs — vegan\, gluten-free\, or other requests are always welcome. Occasionally\, we include eggs or local fish\, depending on the group and the season\, but the essence of our table is colorful\, plant-rich\, and nourishing. \nOur chef’s passion and creativity shine through in every plate. Think: \n\nA vibrant Buddha bowl with roasted vegetables\, quinoa\, fresh herbs\, and a creamy tahini dressing.\nA tropical breakfast of papaya\, pineapple\, and mango with homemade granola and yogurt.\nHearty Colombian ajiaco\, a comforting potato and corn stew adapted with fresh garden herbs.\nCrisp green salads topped with edible flowers and seeds\, drizzled in citrus dressings.\nGolden roasted plantains served with spiced lentils and coconut rice.\n\nWhenever possible\, ingredients are locally sourced: fresh vegetables and herbs from our own garden\, tropical fruits that grow just steps from your room\, and flavors that follow the rhythm of the seasons. \nEvery day you’ll also enjoy soothing herbal infusions\, hand-picked from our garden\, alongside meals that are as beautiful to look at as they are to taste. \nAt our table\, food becomes a moment of joy\, care\, and connection\, uplifting the senses while keeping you close to the Earth. \nEnjoy a free extra night after the end of the retreat \nLive music from our last ceremonies \nWhat to Expect from the Medicine of ayahuasca \nAyahuasca is a sacred psychoactive plant medicine that has been used for centuries by Indigenous cultures of the Amazon for healing\, spiritual insight\, and connection to the divine. \nIt is a brewed preparation made from plants that contain natural MAO inhibitors and DMT\, allowing the experience to be both visionary and deeply introspective. In Colombia\, this sacred brew is known as Yagé. \nAyahuasca is a powerful teacher — but it doesn’t work the same way for everyone\, and it never gives us what we want… it gives us what we need. \nSome people experience vivid visions\, emotional release\, or (spiritual) insightS.Others feel subtle shifts\, clarity\, or a deep sense of peace. Some purge physically or emotionally. Others don’t. Every experience is valid — and there’s no “right way” to receive the medicine. \nWe’re here to support you in meeting whatever arises — whether it’s a deep healing journey\, a quiet inner knowing\, or even the discomfort of not knowing. \nThe Yagé used in the ceremonies has been lovingly prepared by the Taita and supporting team\, using plants from the very land we stand on\, enhancing the potency of the medicine and grounding your journey in the spirit of the mountains and ancestral wisdom. \nThe Power of Combining Body-based Practices with Plant Medicines \nHealing happens most deeply when we engage not only the mind\, but also the body and spirit. \nSomatic practices are body-centered approaches that help us reconnect with our sensations\, emotions\, and inner experiences. Through conscious movement\, breathwork\, and body awareness\, we learn to regulate the nervous system\, release stored tension\, and send important cues of safety to the body. This is essential because true surrender cannot happen through the mind alone; letting go becomes possible only when the body itself feels safe. \nYagé can open profound states of awareness and emotional release. But without the ability to stay connected to the body\, the intensity of the experience may feel overwhelming. Somatic tools help you remain grounded\, navigate what arises with presence\, and integrate the experience through feeling more than thinking. \nBy cultivating awareness through movement and breath before\, during\, and after the ceremony\, we create the conditions for transformation that is not only profound but also safe\, embodied\, and lasting. \nSafety is the Foundation \nBefore the ceremonies\, we guide you through practices designed to create four essential layers of safety: \n\nSafety in the place — Knowing where you are\, who holds the land\, and where you are landing helps your body settle from the start.\nSafety with the group — Through playful group activities\, we build trust\, belonging\, and connection — so you can feel at ease being yourself.\nSafety with the facilitators — All facilitators\, including the Taita\, are present and available throughout the entire retreat — not just during ceremonies.\nSafety in the body — With somatic tools and nervous system regulation\, your body learns it’s safe\, so your mind can let go.\n\nThese foundations allow you to release control and connect more deeply with the medicine\, with trust\, presence\, and support. \nWhat Participants Say \n\n“I came thinking ayahuasca would be a magic solution. What I found instead was something much deeper: clarity\, empowerment\, and a sense of responsibility for my own healing. This retreat is not just about ceremonies — it’s a holistic experience held in a deeply caring environment. The presence of the Taita\, the constant support from the facilitators\, the group connection\, and living together in wild nature created a level of safety and authenticity that allowed real transformation. I leave feeling more grounded\, open\, and clear about where I’m going.” \nJacob L.\, SWED\n“I arrived stressed and unsure — I’m leaving with clarity\, optimism\, and a lighter heart. Feeling held like family made all the difference. A true before-and-after moment.” \nFrancoise N.\, BE\n“Fuente Alegre offered something rare: a place where healing feels natural and safe. Surrounded by wild nature and held in genuine care\, I was able to release emotional weight and begin again. The ceremonies were profound\, but it was the warmth of the family and the sense of trust they create that made the real difference. More than a retreat — it truly feels like a home for the soul.” \nClaudia I\, BEShould you join ? \nThat’s a YES if… \n\nYou feel emotionally shut down — or overwhelmed. You’ve been carrying a lot. A member of the Tiger Clan\, Taita Libardo has dedicated more than 25 years to sharing ancestral medicine and traditional teachings. \nHis training began at a very young age under the guidance of his father\, the renowned Taita Luis Eduardo Matapí Yucuna\, with whom he studied for 15 years\, strengthening a legacy based on respect and connection with the traditions of his people. \nThroughout his life\, he has traveled through various territories of the Colombian Amazon\, sharing and learning from great wisdom keepers of indigenous communities such as the Murui\, Corebajú\, Kichwa\, Macuna\, and Siona. For over 17 years\, he also worked as a bilingual teacher and traditional authority\, imparting not only academic knowledge but also spiritual values and healing practices. \nThe Taita shares the medicines of yagé (capi in his language)\, mambe\, ambil\, rapé\, and kambo—essential elements for restoring harmony between body\, mind\, and spirit. \nHis holistic approach honors ancestral processes and promotes a safe and authentic space for those seeking healing. His mission is to keep his people’s cultural heritage alive and pass it on with love to future generations. \n Lara Grofils Trauma-aware somatic practitioner and dance therapist. \nHi\, I’m Lara. I grew up in the quiet countryside of Belgium and later chased city pace and engineering degrees. On paper\, I was “doing well.” Inside\, I was lost. After a traumatic assault\, and later a difficult childbirth\, my body felt like a stranger to me. \nWhat brought me back was movement — not performance\, but medicine. Through somatic practices\, breath\, and simple\, honest motion\, I learned to listen again. I came to understand that my body isn’t separate from nature; my body is nature. When I finally honored that truth\, the edges softened and clarity returned. Dance\, my first language since I was three\, became my medicine\, alongside meditation\, micromovements\, yoga\, and journaling as my mirror. \nWith my partner Diego\, I moved to Colombia to live closer to the land. We built our home — and then our retreat center — by hand\, with earth and bamboo\, and we’re raising our children in a way that matches our values: simple\, present\, nature-rooted. We also learn regularly with indigenous elders here in Colombia\, whose guidance helps us bridge ancestral wisdom with everyday life\, especially when things feel hard. \nMy relationship with ayahuasca has unfolded slowly\, over time. For me\, it has never been about intense experiences or quick breakthroughs\, but about learning how to soften\, how to surrender\, and how to gently release control. This understanding didn’t come from the mind — it came through the body. I had to learn\, consciously and unconsciously\, how to feel safe enough to let go. Somatic practices became the foundation that allowed the medicine to meet me with more trust\, clarity\, and humility. \nMy work is gentle and deep. I use somatic and expressive movement\, breath\, nervous system regulation touchpoints\, and guided journaling to help you feel again\, safely. I hold a clear\, trauma-aware space where you don’t have to perform or push. Just meet yourself\, honestly. \nThis retreat isn’t about fixing you. It’s about remembering you — through your body\, with nature as a mirror and plant medicine as a catalyst. \n Diego Colot Duque Half Belgian and half Colombian\, Diego grew up surrounded by nature in rural Belgium before living in Spain and later traveling extensively. Ten years ago\, his first encounter with ayahuasca led him to Colombia\, guided by a deep call toward simplicity\, land-based living\, and ancestral wisdom. \nSince then\, he has apprenticed himself to the land and sat regularly with Colombian indigenous elders\, learning through direct experience — not as theory\, but as practice: how to listen\, how to sit with presence\, how to meet the medicine with respect. His learning is rooted in humility\, curiosity\, and deep respect for ancestral medicine lineages. \nThroughout the retreat\, Diego accompanies participants with grounded emotional support while honoring personal boundaries\, helping to create a safe and stable container for deep inner processes. Deeply connected to nature\, he knows the territory and its plants\, and works closely with the land to support the ceremonial field. \nHis approach is practical\, embodied\, and attentive — rooted in listening\, simplicity\, and care. \nDiego is co-founder of Fuente Alegre and holds the physical\, logistical\, and relational foundations of the retreat space. He is responsible for the land\, daily operations\, and participant care\, ensuring that everything needed for the journey is held with consistency\, presence\, and attention to detail. Diego’s hands have shaped the spaces that now hold retreat processes — environments created for slowness\, truth\, and reconnection. \n Arbol Born in France in 1979\, Árbol initially trained as a physical education teacher. However\, in 2001\, due to health issues\, he embarked on a journey to the Peruvian Amazon in search of healing. There\, he discovered the profound power of medicinal plants and the spiritual depth of the ancestral wisdom of the Amazonian peoples. \nGuided by various teachers from Asháninca\, Shipibo\, Kichwa\, and Matses communities\, Árbol dedicated over 10 years to learning the knowledge and ceremonies related to Ayahuasca. In 2009\, he co-founded the community school Aroiris in Iquitos\, and in 2013 he began his path with Kambó medicine\, which he learned from the Matses elders. \nSince 2016\, he has organized training programs for this medicine at Aroiris. Additionally\, he received teachings from other Amazonian peoples\, such as the Boras and Muruy\, as well as from the Mamos of the Sierra Nevada and the Jates Muiscas in their ancestral memory recovery processes. \nIn the ceremony\, Árbol will accompany the taita and be present to support the process\, offering his experience and deep respect for these traditions. \nIf this resonates with your heart and spirit\, it’s time to say YES and join us for a transformational journey! \nI say YES!Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) \nDo I need previous experience with Ayahuasca or other medicines?laragrofils2025-08-26T13:29:54-05:00Do I need previous experience with Ayahuasca or other medicines? No. This retreat is open to both first-time participants and those with previous experience. Common effects include: \n\n\nNausea and vomiting (known as la purga) \n\n\nShaking\, sweating\, or chills \n\n\nTension or fatigue in the body \n\n\nDiarrhea (less common\, but possible) \n\n\nChanges in body temperature or heart rate \n\n\nThese effects vary for each person and usually pass as the ceremony unfolds. They’re seen as part of the body’s way of releasing what needs to be let go. You’ll be held in a safe\, supported space\, and we’ll be there to guide you with care throughout the process.
