If you’re ready to explore what’s beneath the surface — in a safe, trauma-informed, and supportive space, guided by a trusted community and practices that reconnect you to your body — this retreat is for YOU.
By the end of this retreat, you’ll feel more grounded in your body, clearer in your heart, and connected to something greater than yourself — through the combined power of sacred yagé ceremony, somatic healing, and a family-like community that holds you.
You’ll leave with deeper trust in your inner process, tools for emotional regulation, and a renewed sense of direction — so you can return to your life feeling more whole, more awake, and more aligned with what truly matters.
🌿 Drop into the experience
You’ll hike into the lush Colombian mountains, leaving the noise of the world behind. With every step, your senses soften — birdsong, rivers, and sacred silence greet you. After a gentle walk through nature, you’ll arrive at a hand-built retreat center, crafted with natural materials and the wisdom of the land. Here, sustainability isn’t a concept — it’s a way of life.
You’ll settle into a space that invites listening — to tradition, to Spirit, and most of all, to yourself.
You’ll be held in sacred ceremonies by a respected Indigenous Taita, in a lineage passed down through generations.
And you won’t walk through the experience alone. You’ll be supported by somatic (body-based) tools that ground you, by sacred music (a lot) that moves through every layer of your being, and by a small, family-like community that sees and welcomes you exactly as you are.
You’ll learn how to meet the intensity of the medicine with presence, how to listen to your body with compassion, and how to move through what arises — not with fear, but with trust.
🌿 Why this retreat
The Ayahuasca & Somatic Journey Retreat is not just another ayahuasca retreat. It’s a holistic, transformational experience — created for those who are no longer seeking a quick fix, a peak experience, or a spiritual high. This retreat is for those who are ready to meet themselves — fully, honestly, and gently.
Here, healing doesn’t come from intensity alone, but from integration. From sacred ceremony and deep listening. From reconnecting to your body, your truth, and a kind of support that feels real — not performative.
You’ll be held in a space that honors both the medicine and the nervous system. Because we believe true transformation happens when spirit meets the body… and when both are welcomed with softness and care.
🌿 What the retreat offers you
The medicines may open the door to spiritual insight, emotional release, or a felt connection with something greater than yourself. But this retreat is much more than that — it’s a carefully held space designed to support your process before, during, and after the ceremonies.
You’ll learn to reconnect with your emotions through the body — in a way that feels safe, manageable, and real. With gentle somatic practices and a trauma-informed approach, you’ll build the capacity to feel more — without being overwhelmed.
You’ll be given space and structure to slow down and listen. Through movement, group processes, integration time, and immersion in nature, you’ll begin to release what’s been held in your body and return to yourself — with more clarity, more calm, and more connection.
You’ll be supported by a team that’s present throughout the entire process. You’ll have tools, community, and a safe environment that allows you to let go of what you’ve been holding — and finally feel held in return.

🌿 What to Expect from the Medicine of ayahuasca
Ayahuasca is a sacred psychoactive plant medicine that has been used for centuries by Indigenous cultures of the Amazon for healing, spiritual insight, and connection to the divine.
It is a brewed preparation made from plants that contain natural MAO inhibitors and DMT, allowing the experience to be both visionary and deeply introspective. In Colombia, this sacred brew is known as Yagé.
Ayahuasca is a powerful teacher — but it doesn’t work the same way for everyone, and it never gives us what we want… it gives us what we need.
Some people experience vivid visions, emotional release, or spiritual insight.
Others feel subtle shifts, clarity, or a deep sense of peace.
Some purge physically or emotionally. Others don’t. Every experience is valid — and there’s no “right way” to receive the medicine.
We’re here to support you in meeting whatever arises — whether it’s a deep healing journey, a quiet inner knowing, or even the discomfort of not knowing. With preparation, somatic tools, and integration, you’ll be held every step of the way — so you can trust your own rhythm and receive what the medicine has to offer you.
Furthermore, the Yagé used in the ceremonies has been lovingly prepared by the Taita and supporting team, using plants from the very land we stand on, enhancing the potency of the medicine and grounding your journey in the spirit of the mountains and ancestral wisdom.
🌿The Power of Combining Body-based Practices with Plant Medicines
- Healing is most profound when we engage not just the mind, but the body and spirit as well. Somatic practices are body-centered approaches that help us connect deeply with our physical sensations, emotions, and inner experiences. These practices—such as conscious movement, breathwork, and body awareness techniques—support us in releasing trauma, calming the nervous system, and accessing our innate capacity for self-healing.
- When combined with ancestral plant medicines like yagé, somatic practices offer a powerful framework for integration and grounding. Yagé opens a doorway to expanded consciousness and deep emotional release, but without the ability to stay connected to the body, we may become overwhelmed or disconnected from the lessons offered. Somatic practices help anchor these experiences in the body, making the healing process safer, more embodied, and long-lasting.
- By cultivating awareness through movement and breath before, during, and after a yagé ceremony, we create the conditions for true transformation—one where body, mind, and spirit align.
🌿Safety is the Foundation
To truly meet the medicine, we first need to feel safe — in our environment, in our relationships, and in our body. That’s why, before the ceremonies, we guide you through practices designed to create four essential layers of safety:
- Safety in the place — Knowing where you are, who holds the land, and where you are landing helps your body settle from the start.
- Safety with the group — Through playful group activities, we build trust, belonging, and connection — so you can feel at ease being yourself.
- Safety with the facilitators — All facilitators, including the Taita, are present and available throughout the entire retreat — not just during ceremony.
- Safety in the body — With somatic tools and nervous system regulation, your body learns it’s safe — so your mind can let go.
These foundations allow you to release control and connect more deeply with the medicine — with trust, presence, and support.
Should I join ? That’s a YES if…
- You feel emotionally shut down — or overwhelmed. You’ve been carrying a lot. Maybe you’ve learned how to function well… but not how to feel well.
- You’re in a life transition — and your direction feels unclear. Something ended. Something else wants to begin. But you don’t know what it is yet.
- You carry pain or trauma in your body that hasn’t been fully released. You know there’s something there — grief, memory, tension, old stories.
- You want to feel a spiritual connection — not just think about it. You’ve read the books. You’ve tried the practices. But you long for an experience that moves through you.
- You’re tired of being the one who holds space for everyone else. You’re the helper, the strong one, the space-holder. But who holds you?

Nestled in the green mountains of Cocorná, just two hours from Medellín, Fuente Alegre is the retreat center where our journey together unfolds. To reach it, you’ll walk 7–10 minutes through a scenic trail — a soft and symbolic transition from the outside world into sacred space.
🌿 Your sanctuary for this retreat
Fuente Alegre is a family-led project — lovingly created and hand-builded by facilitators Lara and Diego, along with their two children, Ainhoa and Noé. What began as a personal dream became a larger vision: to live in harmony with nature, raise their children in connection to the Earth, and offer a space for others to remember what really matters.
The heart of the retreat is our open-air ceremonial and movement platform — an 80m² space with panoramic views of the mountains, where you’ll sit in ceremony, breathe in movement, and connect with presence.
At Fuente Alegre, food isn’t just nourishment — it’s part of the healing journey.
During the retreat, you’ll be nourished with three lovingly prepared, plant-based meals a day, aligned with the traditional dieta recommended before and after working with sacred medicines.
We work with an amazing chef whose passion and creativity shine through in every plate. Meals are not only healthy and organic, but also beautifully presented, with vibrant colors and thoughtful combinations that uplift the senses.
Whenever possible, ingredients are locally sourced, and many vegetables and herbs come directly from our garden. Each day, you’ll enjoy herbal infusions made with freshly harvested plants, along with tropical fruits — some of which you’ll see growing just steps from your room.

🌿Why is this retreat different?
What Others Say
I took part in a Kambo and Ayahuasca ceremony at Fuente Alegre with Taita Libardo, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words how much it’s changed me. I came here feeling super stressed and unsure about my life, and I’m leaving with so much more clarity, optimism, and a lighter heart.
This experience helped me reconnect with who I really am and see the kind of life I truly want. It also made me realize the last blocks I need to overcome to build the life I dream of.
The place itself is magical—so peaceful, surrounded by nature, with incredible mountain views and total silence. Every detail feels intentional, from the beautiful wooden constructions handcrafted by Diego, to the warm and genuine care from Lara, who’s a movement therapist.
What really stood out during the ceremony was how safe and supported I felt—like being with family. That sense of trust allowed me to completely let go and dive into the transformation Ayahuasca offers. The music and the shaman’s authentic presence made all the difference, creating a space where I felt truly cared for and at ease.
It’s been a true before-and-after moment in my life. Fuente Alegre is such a special place, and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for healing, clarity, or just a deeper connection with themselves.
I recently had the privilege of experiencing a retreat at Fuente Alegre, and it was truly transformative. This family-run sanctuary, lovingly built by hand, offers something rare: a place where healing feels natural and effortless. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in the power of cleansing ceremonies, I found myself shedding layers of emotional weight, as though given the chance to begin anew.
The Ayahuasca ceremonies were unlike anything I had ever encountered. The experience was profound yet safe, thanks to the environment the family has so carefully created. It’s clear that they nurture not just the land but the relationships within it. Their warmth and genuine care foster a deep sense of trust, allowing guests to be vulnerable without fear.
I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to have lived in such a unique space, where connection, healing, and renewal are at the heart of everything. Fuente Alegre is more than just a retreat—it’s a home for the soul.
I’m Satu from Finland and had my second experience of Ayahuasca in Fuente alegre. It was so beautiful ceremony, amazing Taita with a lot of experience and knowledge. Felt so safe and relaxed all the time. Ceremony was small and really familiar. I’ll carry this experience in my heart rest of my life ❤️ Thank you Fuente alegre team for offering this unique opportunity to be part of this wonderful community and family.

Ayahuasca can bring various physical responses, which are a natural part of the cleansing process. Common effects include:
-
Nausea and vomiting (known as la purga)
-
Shaking, sweating, or chills
-
Tension or fatigue in the body
-
Diarrhea (less common, but possible)
-
Changes in body temperature or heart rate
These effects vary for each person and usually pass as the ceremony unfolds. They’re seen as part of the body’s way of releasing what needs to be let go. You’ll be held in a safe, supported space, and we’ll be there to guide you with care throughout the process.
Kambó is a traditional Amazonian ritual that uses the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, applied to the skin in small points.
It’s known for its purifying effects before Ayahuasca ceremonies— helping the body release toxins, strengthen the immune system, and reset physically, emotionally, and energetically.
The ceremony is held early in the morning and in silence, with support from trained facilitators. Participants fast beforehand and are guided through the experience with care.
While it can be intense, the effects are often described as cleansing, clarifying, and energizing.
Kambó is optional, and you’ll receive more information beforehand to decide if it feels right for you.
